As a child, Mark Carter, M.D., always wondered about the world and how things worked. Early in high school, he developed an interest in health and in learning about how the body worked. After high school, he went to community college and focused on chemistry. Then he transferred to UCLA and graduated in 1997 with a bachelor of science in biochemistry. From there, Carter went on to UCLA Medical School, and then moved to Tucson, AZ for residency at the University of Arizona. In 2004 he moved to Phoenix to practice internal medicine. Carter is member of the Institute of Functional Medicine and the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association.
